Our LES History Month + Jane's Walk event:
Stroll Avenue C - the heart of Loisaida - with three community leaders: an international mapmaker, an urban anthropologist, and a spoken word poet for an ‘inside’ intro to the visual arts, music, architecture, gardens and foodways that have blossomed along Avenue C.

This is the first Avenue C Cultural Corridor event, May 2024 opening walk co-hosted by La Sala De Pepe & Green Map NYC & Loisaida Center

Pancho’s Garden

Treat yourself to a delightful stroll through this maze-like and amazing garden!  Kudos!

Village East Tower

Affordable housing gives artists their wings! This Mitchell Lama has cool plans for its future including becoming a NORC - Naturally Occurring Retirement Community - which brings in resources to help older people thrive.

Grace Space

Look to the east, it's an art outpost with its own little plaza, set back from Ave C between 11 & 12th Streets

Con Ed Plant

Where does the Cultural Corridor get its juice? This behemoth uses natural gas and other fossil fuels. Just a little bit is renewable now, but the next five years will change the energy balance for good. This is the power plant that shut down during Superstorm Sandy, and with it. Lower Manhattan was dark for 5 days.
